A personal note:

As I am not much of an artist myself, I decided to do what I can do best: Programming.
On the other hand I like everything envolved with CGI.
Said that I would ask anyone who uses my work to do one of the following:

  • Send me an email what you liked or what you not liked - it helps to know how you use it.
  • If you rendered an image and you feel my programming had a significant role in the outcome, please send me an email and a link.
  • If you feel you should mention me as an author please add something the allong the following lines at an appropiate place:
    • Some shaders by Arthur Heinz <arthur.heinz/ATT\arthurs-cgi-corner.net> or

Installing Instructions:

All you need is contained in a zip file which You can install in any of the following ways:

1.)If you are experienced just extract it directly into your DAZ Studio folder
2.)or extract the files into a temporary folder first and copy the folders manually into your DAZ Studio folder

IMPORTANT: Make sure that DAZ Studio is not running while installing the shader pack!

Anyway, you have to identify the installation folder of your DAZ Studio installation correctly.
If you are unsure, search for a file named DAZStudio.exe on your hard drive. The folder in which it resides is the installation folder of DAZ Studio.

For confirmation look for these subfolders:

content
scripts
shaders

If you can see them (besides some other folders and files) you have identified the installation directory correctly.
In the case that you unpacked the installation files into a temporary folder, the same subfolders should be in your temporary folder.
Just drag and drop all four folders to your DAZ Studio installation folder.
If asked, let Windows overwrite the files. Don't be afraid, nothing will be really overwritten. It is just the way of Windows telling you that the folders you are copying do already exist.

IMPORTANT: The thing is to leave the internal folder structure of the installation package intact. This is why you should only copy folders not individual files from the installation package.

To check if the installation was successful, start DAZ Studio. Open your content tab and expand the node [Studio]. Look for the node [Shader Presets] beneath it and expand that node too. There should be a node [ahEnvironmentShaderPackage].
If not, You most surely misidentified your DAZ Studio installation folder. In that case please reread this section and try it again. If nothing helps write me an email.
